Shah Rukh Announces His OTT Platform SRK+; Actor Disappointed Because Disney+Hotstar Has Already Executed All Good Concepts

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be soon making his entry into the OTT (Over The Top) world. On March 15, he took to social media to announce the launch of his OTT platform, SRK+.

The Bollywood superstar also shared a picture of himself along with the logo of SRK+ in his latest Instagram post. He captioned the pic, “Kuch kuch hone wala hai, OTT ki duniya mein.” Fans bombarded the actor’s posts with comments. They shared their excitement for his new project. SRK’s friend and Bollywood star, Karan Johar, wrote on Instagram, “Biggest news of the year!” Fans are excited to see the superstar on the OTT platform.

On Wednesday, a new advertisement went on air, where SRK was seen discussing content ideas for SRK+ with renowned director Anurag Kashyap. However, Khan’s manager dismissed all the ideas, saying that similar concepts were executed by other shows and films on Disney+Hotstar. SRK asked if there was anything good left. His manager said that they own an IPL (Indian Premier League) team. However, Anurag laughed by saying that Disney+Hotstar also has the Tata IPL.

SRK and Disney+Hotstar collaboration

According to media reports, SRK+ is an extension of Khan’s collaboration with Disney+Hotstar. He will be making his digital debut with Disney+Hotstar. Other details of SRK+ will soon be shared by the actor. Anurag Kashyap also announced on social media that he is collaborating with SRK on his OTT app.

Earlier, SRK had featured in a campaign by Disney+Hotstar, where he was seen considering debuting in the OTT world.

Shah Rukh Khan also has projects with filmmakers Atlee and Rajkumar Hirani in production. This month, Yash Raj Films (YRF) announced the release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s starrer film ‘Pathaan’. Pathaan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The film will be released on January 26, 2023. SRK will also be making a cameo in Tiger 3.
