Sexist or Playful? Rahul Gandhi’s Alleged Flying Kiss Sparks Debate

After being given the opportunity to speak first, Rahul Gandhi quickly departed for Rajasthan. Irani claimed that the Congressman gave her a flying kiss as he was about to leave.

Smriti Irani, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accused Rahul Gandhi of “misbehavior” on the Lok Sabha floor on Thursday.

After Rahul Gandhi claimed that the government had “killed Mother India” in the Manipur violence, Smriti Irani and Congress leaders engaged in a heated discussion in the Lower House on Wednesday.

After being given the opportunity to speak first, Rahul Gandhi quickly departed for Rajasthan. Irani claimed that the Congressman gave her a flying kiss as he was about to leave.

I object to something, Smriti Irani said. The person who had the opportunity to speak before me was impolite before leaving. Only a misogynistic man would be able to give a flying kiss to a parliament that has female members. Such disrespectful behaviour in the nation’s parliament has never before been witnessed.

Smriti Irani described Rahul Gandhi as “misogynistic,” adding, I have a qualm. He behaved badly. A misogynistic man is the only one who would kiss female lawmakers in the air. Typical of his family’s background…He publicly expressed the opinions of his group regarding women.Never before had such an occurrence been recorded. This reveals his attitude towards women. This is offensive.

It is unclear whether Rahul Gandhi will face any disciplinary action

The incident has sparked a debate about sexism and misogyny in Indian politics. Some people have defended Gandhi, saying that he was simply being playful. Others have condemned his behavior, saying that it was disrespectful and inappropriate.

It is still unclear whether Gandhi will face any disciplinary action for his alleged actions. However, the incident has certainly put a spotlight on the issue of sexism in Indian politics.

In my opinion, Smriti Irani is right to call out Rahul Gandhi’s behavior. His alleged actions were disrespectful and inappropriate, and they send a clear message about his attitude towards women. It is important to hold our elected officials to a high standard of behavior, and we should not tolerate sexism or misogyny in any form.
