Some of the best Bollywood movies have been banned in many western nations and for reasons that are justified to their interest. Here are those movies to see and feel proud of:

1). Neerja

Based on the true story of a young and strong airhostess, Neerja Bhanot, who fought with her life to ensure every passenger in her flight was rescued alive, at the cost of losing her life. The movie remains banned in Pakistan, because apparently, it shows the nation in bad light.

2) Bell Bottoms

The moviethat had Akshay Kumar as its lead, depicted the intelligence of an India agent to bring back agents from the Middle East. It was initially banned in US and then later in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait as well.

3) The Kashmir Files

It has stirred quite a few emotions. The cult classic helmed by Vivek Agnihotri recently got banned in Singapore amid the controversies stirred by the movie. Giving the reason for the ban, the censor board said “its provocative and one-sided portrayal of Muslims”. The government found the film had the potential to cause enmity between different communities and disrupt social cohesion and religious harmony”.

4) Dirty Picture

 Based on a true story again of a small time South Indian actress, the movie was banned in Qatar, Pakistan and Kuwait due the association of a Muslim actor with the lead actor Vidhya Balan. Even though the movie the status of a cult classic in the nation, the content showcased in the movie was still too bold for the audience.

5) Delhi Belly

Another make way ahead of its time, was banned in Nepal due to its bold portrayal of money handling and use of language.

6) Fiza

This one kind of rung a sentimental bell in the hearts of Malaysians who felt that ‘a muslim cannot be a terrorist’ something that Hrithik Roshan showcased in the character portrayal of a middle-class Muslim boy becoming a militant.

7) Baby

It seems like Pakistan has something with Akshay Kumar, that’s why another movie got banned from the screen in the nation. The Pakistan censor board banned the film because it apparently showed Pakistan in poor light.
