Sensex, Nifty Hit All-Time High Marks, 110 Stocks Hit 52-Week Highs

The BSE Sensex jumped above the 63700 and NSE Nifty 50 surpassed the 18900 mark. There are 110 stocks expected to touch 52-week highs today.

In the share market today, both the NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened at record highs. The NSE Nifty 50 crossed the 18,900 mark, while the BSE Sensex surpassed 63,700 points. 

The NSE index is trading 52.75 points or 0.28% higher at 18,870.15, and the BSE benchmark rose 183.99 points or 0.29% to 63,600.02. 

Several sectoral indices also showed positive trends, with the Bank Nifty reaching above 44,400, Nifty FMCG gaining 0.23%, Nifty Metal jumping 0.69%, and Nifty PSU Bank soaring 0.62%.

Some notable gainers on the Nifty 50 included Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Divis Lab, Grasim, and Tata Motors. On the other hand, HDFC Life, Power Grid, ONGC, Sun Pharma, and Tech Mahindra were among the losers.

During the trading session, a significant number of stocks hit their 52-week highs. This included companies like LTIMindtree, Tata Motors, Titan, Lupin, NTPC, and IndiGo, among others. 

In terms of sectors, Bank Nifty gained 0.54%, Nifty Auto rose 0.65%, Fin Nifty surged 0.71%, Nifty Metal soared 1.48%, and Nifty Pharma skyrocketed 1.29%.

Both the NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex achieved new highs during the day’s trading. The Nifty 50 crossed the 19,000-mark, while the Sensex crossed 64,000 for the first time. 

The broader market indices also displayed positive trends. The volatility index, India VIX, increased by 5.79% to reach 11.40.

Among the most active stocks on the NSE were Adani Enterprises, Adani Green, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Adani Ports, Tata Motors, SBIN, and Kotak Bank.

The highest performing stocks that hit their 52-week highs are – Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Lupin, NTPC, Tata Motors, Titan, and JSW Steel.

However, there are a few stocks that hit their 52-week lows today, including Power & Instrumentation (Gujarat), Aksh Optifibre, Cerebra Integrated Technologies, and Suumaya Industries.
