Three coaches of the Secunderabad-Shalimar Superfast Express derailed near Howrah, West Bengal, early this morning. The derailment happened in Nalpur which is roughly 40 km from Kolkata as the train was moving from the middle to the outer tracks.
After this horrific accident fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or major injuries.
According to Southeastern Railway, the parcel van and two other coaches of the train derailed at 5:31 am. Stating the reason of this accident they said, the train was shifting from the middle to the outer tracks.
As reported by NDTV South Eastern Railway said in its statement, “A parcel van and two coaches of 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Express derailed while passing through Nalpur station of Kharagpur Division at 5.31 am today. As reported, there is no major injury and casualty”.
Relief trains and medical teams were dispatched from Santagati and Kharagpur and quickly arrived on the scene to assist. Buses have also been arranged to help passengers continue to their destination.
