Samsung Denies Cheap Foldable Smartphones, Releases Android 14 Update

There’s been a lot of talk about Samsung possibly introducing some budget-friendly foldable smartphones by 2024. This idea excited many, thinking these foldables would be priced like the mid-range Galaxy A series, somewhere around ₹30,000 to ₹40,000.

However, Samsung has made it clear that this isn’t the case. They’ve said they don’t have plans for mid-range foldable phones and that includes a model called the Galaxy Z FE. So, for now, Samsung is sticking to its high-end foldable phones, like the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5.

Switching gears to Apple, the future iPhones, possibly around the time the iPhone 18 comes out. Samsung Display, the company that makes OLED screens for iPhones, is working on a new technology.

They’re developing OLED panels with a special blue material that’s more energy-efficient. This could mean that future iPhones will have better battery life. It’s still a work in progress and might take a few years, but it’s definitely something to look forward to.

Samsung has also started rolling out the One UI 6.0 update, which is based on Android 14. This update is bringing a lot of new features and improvements to Samsung phones.

It includes a new look for the Quick Panel, new weather widgets, a new default font, and an updated camera app. Plus, there are enhancements for photo editing, video formatting, and better privacy and security.

The rollout started on October 30 with the Galaxy S23 series in the US and other markets. By the end of the year, many Samsung models, including various Galaxy A and S series, as well as the Z Flip and Fold models, will receive this update.
