Uttar Pradesh– Putting down foundation stones for posterity to see what good was done in the reign of the saffron party. Coined as the ‘Vikas push’ aka the ‘Developmental push’, the center has supported some major infrastructural building activities in Uttar Pradesh right before the ballot battle begins.

The first in the list was the Purvanchal Expressway which received a whole lot of criticism from the opposition for disrupting traffic and emptying coffers over arrangements. Now comes the Ganga Prayagraj Ganga Expressway that stretches over 600 kilometers and also the Noida International Airport; whose foundation stones are slated to be laid by PM Narendra Modi. While the airport will receive a stone set on November 24, the other one will have to wait till next month.

The Noida International Airport ceremony will also come with a huge rally which will be addressed by the PM himself. With 94percent of the land acquisition complete, the Ganga Expressway contract is up for grabs and its developer will be finalized by the end of November.

Apparently, there are a battery of infrastructure projects to be inaugurated before the Model Code of Conduct comes into play in Uttar Pradesh. In the first week of December, Gorakhpur could be receiving its two key projects under the leadership of Modi again.

We can look at the inauguration of the long hauled, fertilizer plant and the AIIMS facility; all in the region which is a stronghold of current UP (CM) Yogi Adityanath. On the anvil on November 19 is also Jhansi and some drinking water projects to be inaugurated. While the Samajwadi Party and others in opposition claim that the foundation for the Purvanchal Expressway was set by one of them, the battery of new projects is showing the seriousness with which BJP is moving ahead to concretize their work in the country and ensure the vote bank that they mean business.
