The Aadi Perukku festival, which will be celebrated on the banks of the Cauvery on 3rd August, was evaluated by the Trichy district government on Tuesday.
Police forces have prepared security plans for the ‘Aadi Perukku’ celebration on Wednesday in anticipation of a sizable crowd at these Cauvery River bathing ghats and along the banks of the Kollidam River.

In addition to mobilizing police officers, the bandobast also includes a section of Home Guards soldiers to control crowd movements in the bathing ghats as well as the river banks.
The city police will be stationed at the Amma Mandapam bathing ghat in Srirangam on Wednesday, according to police sources, where large crowds of people are expected to gather from various locations to take a holy bath in the Cauvery river and conduct special pujas as a sign of gratitude to the river for ensuring their prosperity.
For the “Aadi Perukku” celebration, the municipal police have created a distinct security plan that calls for the deployment of their troops in shifts beginning early on Wednesday.
In addition to the bathing ghats at Ayyalamman, Gandhi “padithurai,” Odathurai, and Thillainayagam along the Cauvery river, police officers will also be stationed at Geethapuram, Veereswaram, and Melur.
According to the sources, public address announcements would be made on a regular basis at these locations to control crowds.
The Cauvery along Kollidam river banks in the Jeeyapuram, Lalgudi, and Musiri sub-divisions have been designated as specific locations for the deployment of people under a different security plan developed by the Tiruchi Rural Police.
