S Jaishankar urges Israeli businesses to look for investment opportunities in India

Israel -Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar has recently stressed on investment opportunities in India as he pitched business prospects to Israeli officials. The leader also promoted India as one of the most trusted partners of the nation.

On Sunday, the official urged the Israli business to invest in India including the defense sector and avail the ‘friendly’ business policies that are followed by the country. The country has been making a lot of efforts to invite investment and has been prompting the ‘ease of doing business’ policies in the nation.

Jaishanker made his maiden visit to Israel last week where he promoted changing India under the current prime minister Narendra Modi. He said, “If you were to connect all those dots, I think, you get a picture of an India that is moving towards acquiring those deeper strengths which will make it more competitive in terms of the world economy.”

He added that these changes in India are of huge interest to Israeli businesses. The changes in the structural formations of the country have been going on since before the Covid-19 pandemic and despite people not being in touch physically, the growth has been tremendous.

“Anyone who has interest in defence be it directly or indirectly in terms of a platform or be it for the ancillary or as vendore, they look for opportunities in India, ” he stated. He also credited Israel for having one for the most energetic economy and also added that India regards Israel as its one of the most trusted and innovative partners.

“We have had some really big reforms, some of them might be of interest to you,” he stated while addressing several business sectors. He continued that among those, one is called production linked incentives so that the manufacturing sector is promoted in India. It consists of 13 other sectors such as batteries and electricals.

Having promoted the manufacturing and the tech sector, he also talked about agricultural florishments where he highlighted the recently brought in garms laws. The farm laws are accelerating the process of incomes to the farmers and also promoting agriculture throughout India.

The minister showed confidence that post the execution of the farm laws, a lot of investment will be encouraged in the country. “India is a very welcoming place for business. Not just business, we would like to see more partnerships,” he added. He also met the Indian Jewish community post the bilateral discussions within the Isralei officials on Sunday.
