Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) held its 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) where several announcements were made. One of the major announcements was the launch of Jio AirFiber, a high-speed internet service.
Jio AirFiber aims to provide fast internet speeds without the need for wires. It will be launched on Ganesh Chaturthi, which falls on September 19.
Reliance Jio, a subsidiary of RIL, plans to provide 150,000 connections per day through Jio AirFiber. The company claims to have around 10 million JioFiber customers and a network that spans over 1.5 million kilometers. With the launch of Jio AirFiber, Jio aims to expand its network to over 200 million users.
During the AGM, Jio Chairman Akash Ambani also announced the launch of Jio Smart Home Services, which aims to redefine how people experience and manage their homes.
Another important announcement made during the AGM was regarding the progress of Jio’s 5G services. Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani stated that Jio’s 5G services are on track to cover the entire country by December this year. He also mentioned that nearly 85% of the total 5G cells operational in India are in Jio’s network.
Jio AirFiber is a high-speed internet service that provides fast internet without using wires. It can be easily set up by plugging it in and turning it on.
Users can have their own Wi-Fi hotspot at home connected to ultra-high-speed internet. JioAirFiber makes it simple to connect your home or office to gigabit-speed internet.
Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani spoke positively about India’s growth and shared the company’s plans at their Annual General Meeting.
Reliance Industries had a consolidated revenue of ₹9,74,864 crore and a net profit of ₹73,670 crore in FY23. They also created 2.6 lakh jobs in that year.

Ambani mentioned that Reliance Jio’s 5G services will cover the entire country by December. Currently, 85% of the operational 5G cells in India are in Jio’s network.
