Ranaut’s Thalaivii gets a four-day theatrical window in Tamil, Telugu, actress hopes the same for Hindi cinema

Much awaited Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Thailaivii’ has got a four-week theatrical window in Tamil and Telugu cinema but nothing has been confirmed for the Hindi cinema. The film has been surrounded with all sorts of controversies since its announcement.

On hearing the news about the South Indian entertainment industries accepting the release of the movie starring a cultural and political icon, Jayalalithaa, the actress expressed her happiness saying that this is like a ray of hope for the movie.

Kangana had earlier expressed her desire on social media platforms to watch the movie screen in all languages. She has urged the multiplex owners for ‘Thalaivii’s’ screening. The actress clearly got emotional after this and went onto Penn a long note expressing her happiness as well as her wish to see the same response in Hindi as well.

“I am personally moved by the kind words used for me and Team Thalaivii,” said the 34-year-old actress. She also emphasized multiplex owners who made it all possible saying that now the cinema enthusiast cannot wait to go back to experience the art in a hall.

The film is based on former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalitha, who was not only one of the most popular faces of her time but also one of the most powerful political figures of all time. Ranaut is seen as extremely passionate about the project and has been urging PVR owners to make it a smooth sail for her.

“I hope with talks, and a passion for the theatrical experience, we can come together to find a solution so that the Hindi version can also find love and appreciation on the big screen,” said the actress.

After much delay in any official announcement, the news was confirmed only after Kamal Gianchandani, CEO, PVR Pictures Ltd, Chief of Strategy said that PVR is delighted to inform that people about four-week window for its Tamil and Telugu, however, the statement also added that they are disappointed that same could not be done for Hindi language version.
