As per the reports provided by Pinkvilla, Prashanth Varma’s Rakshas will be backed by Mythri Movie Makers. Sources have revealed that the upcoming mythological movie is provisionally named Rakshas and further confirmation will be done officially. It is also revealed that Rakshas will be one of the parts of Prashanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe where he will one by one introduce each character and will finally unite them in a grand finale film. Sources also revealed that “ Ranveer Singh is blown away by the long-term plans and vision of the director and is very excited to embark on the journey of Rakshas soon”.

A Glimpse of Rakshas

Prashanth Varma’s Rakshas is a mythological movie set in the background of the pre-independence period. Ranveer Singh’s character is going to portray the negative forces of possession. However, there is no specific information about his character but sources have provided some hint that his character will deal with some evil figures from mythology.

According to the reports, pre-production including pre-visualization, script, and screenplay is already complete. The team is now working to finalize the schedules for the shooting. The source also revealed that “ Ranveer Singh has met the director and the team many times over the last few weeks and has done a pooja for the upcoming film on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Hyderabad”.

Reports suggested that Ranveer Singh is also going to work with Aditya Dhar for another movie which is in the pre-production phase. Ranveer Singh’s shooting schedules for both movies will be finalized soon. Rakshas is expected to be dropped during the last months of 2024.
