A remarkable event was held by the Shri Mahaveer Goshala Kalyan Sansthan, a registered trust committed to serving marginalized communities. The event aimed to assist underprivileged individuals in fulfilling their dreams of marriage.

Couples eagerly gathered at the outer regions of Baran city on the morning of May 26 to exchange vows.

In just six hours, a staggering 2,143 couples tied the knot, setting new records for the highest number of marriages in both a 12 and 24-hour period.

Before this, 963 Yemeni couples had set a new Guinness World Record for the highest number of couples getting married in a single day.

A vibrant display marked the beginning of the ceremony as the brides and grooms exchanged colorful garlands made of several shades of yellow, pink, and red flowers. In a mass marriage ceremony, couples from various religious backgrounds participated.

The couples were blessed by Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and cabinet minister Pramod Jain Bhaya at the event.

Couples took part in the ‘saptapadi’ ritual in the sacred Mandap area, signifying their dedication to each other by circumambulating a holy fire seven times.

Lots of Gayatri Parivaar’s Hindu priests from the surrounding regions conducted the ceremonies. Couples were issued marriage certificates by government officials following the conclusion of the ceremonies.

Newlyweds receive gifts to begin their life together. Brides were gifted with jewellery, and each couple was provided with household essentials such as bedding, utensils, and appliances like refrigerators, cookers, coolers, and televisions.

A festive atmosphere was created as a feast was offered to all the couples and the large number of guests in attendance. Over a million people attended the event to celebrate the union and show their support.

Couples hailing from the Baran district, considered as one of the most underdeveloped districts of Rajasthan, participated in a mass wedding ceremony.
