Rahul Gandhi Welcomes SC’s verdict, says “Will Raise the Pegasus Issue in Parliament again”

Delhi -On Wednesday, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi welcomed the Supreme Court’s judgment on Pegasus. Rahul stated that Congress would keep on bringing the issue in Parliament.

Rahul Gandhi futher expressed, “Pegasus is an attempt to break Indian democracy. Pegasus is an assault on the nation and the nation’s foundation. I’m sure that the Supreme Court committee will get reality out.

The Supreme Court delegated a committee of three technical members, which retired judge Justice R V Raveendran heads for conducting an in-depth probe into charges of using Pegasus spyware for surveillance.

The Court declared the state would “not receive a free pass” each time public security is raised, and the Court won’t stay a “quiet spectator”. Overruling each argument presented by the Center, the top Court stated privacy isn’t the particular concern of social activists and journalists, but ordinary citizens as well.

Gandhi added that the Congress party has been posing three fundamental questions. “Who approved Pegasus (and) who has purchased Pegasus? Who are the victims of the surveillance? Did some other country have information on our people?

Rahul added, “If PM of a country planned with another country to spy on its own citizens – which incorporated the Chief Justice, Chief Ministers, former PMs, heads of opposition groups, then, at that point, this is an assault on the country.”

The critical question is, “did any country have all this information? Regardless of whether this information was on the Prime Minister’s table, then it’s also illegal, and we will challenge it,” “The PM isn’t above the country”.  The Opposition party will undoubtedly push for a debate again in House. “Surely, the BJP will avoid a conversation on that, yet we will press for it, Rahul added.
