Delegation March: A Rahul Gandhi led Congress delegation will be marching from Vijay Chown in Delhi to Rashtrapati Bhavan today to reportedly submit a memorandum with two crore signatures for President’s intervention on the farmers issue against the centre.

The delegation will consist of Congress party members and a lot senior leaders will also be a part of it. This is after the farmers union has denied all talks and discussions with the government till it takes the call to take back the three farm laws. Along with this, the farmers union has also asked for increased cost of production which translates into increased minimum support price( MSP).

Delhi Police talking about the protest march said that there is no such permission issued by the top officials but we can allow any three congress leaders to go and talk to the President.

Additional DCP (New Delhi) Deepak Yadav on Thursday said that no permission has been granted for Congress’ march to Rashtrapati Bhavan, however, three leaders, who have an appointment at Rashtrapati Bhavan, will be allowed to go, reports ANI.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that farmers are being treated unfairly.“The farmers are being treated unfairly. We are undertaking this march to voice our support for the farmers. Any dissent against this government is classified as having elements of terror.”

As for the farmers’ protest and their dialogue with the government, nothing has come to any conclusion as farmer bodies are only demanding for the laws to be retracted and till then, they have denied any further talks.

“If the Centre takes one step, farmers will take two,” they said while adding that the government that instead of repeating your proposals and amendments, you should offer something concrete in writing so that we can make that the basis of our agenda to resume the dialogue process.”

In his recent address to the farmers of Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the laws have not been overnight and also added that political parties should stop misguiding the farmers.
