R Madhavan Reveals, Chooses Quality Over Money In Film Roles

R. Madhavan (aka Maddy) has revealed about how he chooses films and why he doesn’t just work for money. He’s been acting for a long time and is known for his great work in both Tamil and Hindi movies.

R Madhavan said that because he acts in movies in two languages, he often finds himself looking at new projects and feeling like he has done something similar before (remakes & sort of). This makes him feel disconnected.

He doesn’t want to just do the same things over and over. He shared that there have been times when he felt like he wasn’t fully involved in a project, almost as if he was sleepwalking through it. Surprisingly, some of these projects (movies) still did well, which confused him.

He also talked about not wanting to do films just for money. He believes that at this stage in his career, it’s important to maintain the quality of his work. He doesn’t want to be in movies that don’t match the level of quality he’s used to. So, for him, a project must have a certain level of quality to be considered.

When it comes to picking projects, Madhavan looks for something different, something that challenges him and keeps him engaged. He doesn’t want to repeat roles or be part of something that doesn’t excite him. This is why he chooses projects carefully, looking for roles that are meaningful and will have a lasting impact.

Currently, Madhavan is starring in a Netflix drama thriller called “The Railway Men.” It’s a series about the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy. It’s the first time Yash Raj Films is making a series for Netflix.

The show also stars other well-known actors like Kay Kay Menon and Divyendu Sharma. Madhavan was initially surprised by the project’s theme, as he expected a typical Yash Raj romantic drama. But the depth of the story and the research behind it caught his interest.

It’s really good to see that some great actors like R Madhavan are so careful about choosing their roles, focusing on quality and engagement rather than just charging more fees. His latest project, “The Railway Men,” reflects this approach, as it’s a meaningful series based on a real-life event.
