Renowned actor R Madhavan has been appointed as the President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and Chairman of its governing council, marking a significant development in the world of Indian cinema and education.
Ranganathan Madhavan, also known as “Maddy,” expressed humility and excitement about the position.
When asked if he believed good things happen to good people, he modestly said that good and bad things happen to everyone.
He mentioned that he is not driven by power, position, or money. Madhavan is committed to the role and wants to prove himself.
He acknowledged the former FTII Presidents and their achievements, showing his determination to live up to their standards.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur congratulated R Madhavan on his new role as President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).
Anurag praised Madhavan’s experience and values, saying he believes Madhavan will make the institute better and bring positive changes. He also shared his congratulations to Madhavan on social media.
R Madhavan has directed the film “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” which tells the story of aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan. The film won the Best Feature Film award at the 69th National Film Awards.
Madhavan expressed his happiness and gratitude for this recognition in an interview. “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” has been well-received by both critics and audiences for its portrayal of Nambi Narayanan’s life and accomplishments.
R Madhavan is an actor who has acted in Tamil and Hindi movies. He started his career in Tamil cinema with the movie “Alaipayuthey” in 2000 and then acted in a Hindi movie called “Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein” in 2001.

Madhavan had recently directed the movie called “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” which won him a National Award for Best Film.
The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), located in Pune, Maharashtra, operates under the purview of the Central Government’s Information & Broadcasting Ministry.
Established in 1960, it offers courses in various aspects of filmmaking, including film editing, direction, cinematography, audiography, acting, art direction, and computer graphics and animation.
