Punjab To Add Sports Legends’ Biographies In School Syllabus

Punjab Minister has said that the state is going to add the biographies of Balbir Singh, Milkha Singh, Kaur Singh & Gurbachan Singh in class 9, and 10 textbooks.

The life stories of four sports legends from Punjab, including Balbir Singh Senior and Milkha Singh, have been included in the syllabus of physical education for classes 9 and 10, said Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. This move aims to inspire and motivate young students to pursue sports and excel in the field.

Biographies of Great Players Added In School Textbooks

In addition to Milkha Singh and Balbir Singh Senior, the textbooks now include the biographies of Gurbachan Singh Randhawa, a national Olympian athlete, and Asian Champion Boxer Kaur Singh.

The action is in keeping with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s pledge to establish Punjab into a sports powerhouse.

For the purpose of instilling a sense of pride in students for their accomplishments, short biographies of the four outstanding players have been added to physical education textbooks.

In order for aspiring athletes to reach their full potential, Bains underlined the importance of fostering the state’s sports culture.

To Inspire & Motivate Younger Generations

“These biographies will inspire younger generations to pursue their dreams with grit and glory,” he added. “Our great players demonstrated their skills in every field, especially in sports.”

The biographies will provide the pupils a greater appreciation of the commitment and toil required to succeed in the sports industry.

The decision is anticipated to benefit the state’s sports culture because it will not only inspire more children to participate in sports but also raise awareness of Punjab’s illustrious athletic history.

Bains is confident that this program will assist Punjab in developing more great athletes who can honor the state and the country.

An Initiative To Promote Sports Culture

The addition of sports legends’ biographies to Punjab’s physical education curriculum is a big step in the province’s effort to promote sports culture.

The action will raise awareness of the state’s rich sporting legacy as well as encourage and urge younger students to take up sports.

The Punjab government wants to make the state and the country proud by fostering an environment where aspiring athletes can succeed.
