PUBG officially registers in India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs approves

PUBG officially registers: To capture the Indian market and bypass Chinese app ban, PUBG registered as an Indian company on the MCA India website. As per the registration details, the company is based out of Bangalore and listed as a subsidiary of a foreign country. Besides, it has two Indian directors on board including Kumar Krishnan Iyer, who earlier worked as a director for Spotify and AccuWeather and Hyunil Sohan, the head of Corporate Development at KRAFTON, which is the parent corporation of PUBG. 

The company started with registration process, before the launch of PUBG India Mobile. The release date of the mobile has not be revealed as the company is occupied with all the official formalities. The company said that the mobile would be launched very soon, initially for Android users and after a few days for iOS users. 

The company won the approval of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. It implies that the company can resume its operations in India very soon. The makers said that they would also be offering a new game, specifically for the Indian market. The PUBG India would have certain modifications including ‘virtual simulation training ground’, less bloodshed, use of green for blood effects instead of red, fully-clothed character and limited playtime. Despite the ministry’s approval  PUBG’s Indian subsidiary would still be required to gain approval from another Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY). As per the orders issued by MEITY, PUBG and many other Chinese apps had been banned from the country. India banned the app in September along with 117 other Chinese apps stating security reasons, following India-China border row.
