Pro Kabaddi 2022: Tamil Thalaivas Beat UP Yoddhas At End Of Tie Breaker

The Tamil Thalaivas triumphed over U.P. Yoddhas in a tie-breaker match to qualify for the semifinals of Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9.

After a tie-breaker in which they were tied 36-36 against U.P., Tamil Thalaivas won a thrilling win with a score of 6-4. Yodhas were playing full-time in the Dome, NSCI V Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Their victory was largely due to the Thalaivas’ raiding team of Narender (13 points), and Ajinkya Panwar (10 points). They qualified for the semi-finals.

The first half was close with the Thalaivas being the first to win the toss and choosing to raid the season. They raced to a 4-0 lead, Narender’s raids brilliantly supported by a strong defense.

The Yodhas were kept at bay by the raider throughout the second half, who registered touch points to keep them down.

Surender Gill and Pardeep Narwal, who were the Yodhas’ only two scorers, suffered.

They scored just five points each through the first period. To keep the Yodhas from going All-Out, they needed a Super Tackle from Ashu Singh on Ajinkya Pawar.

Narender returned to the Yodhas just before the end of the second half to catch Sandeep Narwal, then Gurdeep, and to bring them back to the brink. The Thalaivas led 16-14 going into the break.

The second half began with the Thalaivas initiating the action. They inflicted a first All Out on the Yodhas, allowing them to take a lead of 19-15.

The Yodhas fought back, and Gill started receiving points at regular intervals. However, the Thalaivas remained cool and continued to chip away at the Yodhas with just enough points.

The tension was palpable as the teams were separated by three points with five minutes remaining. Pardeep Narwal stepped in, taking out Himanshu & M. Abishek, leaving the Thalaivas at the edge of an All Out.

The Yoddhas had just two minutes left to play and managed to get their first All Out of the game, drawing level at 33-33.

Pardeep Narwal executed a Super Raid with just 30 seconds remaining to give the Yodhas a lead of two points.

The Thaialvas won with Pawar, but they fought back and earned one point. A tackle point on Pardeep Nawal with 15 seconds remaining drew them even and sent the game to a tiebreaker.

To win the game, the Thalaivas won a tight back-and-forth tie-breaker 6-4 and will face Puneri Paltan in the semi-finals on Thursday.
