PM To Unveil National Memorial As A Tribute To Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

PM Modi will unveil the model of the National Memorial today dedicated to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep, on 23rd January Parakram Diwas (Bravery Day).

On January 23, 1897, Netaji was born. He played a crucial role in the Indian independence movement. 

Day Parakram India currently recognises January 23 as Bravery Day, also known as Parakram Diwas, and celebrates it as a national holiday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Subhas Chandra Bose on Monday in remembrance of his “unparalleled contribution to India’s history” on the occasion of his 126th birthday.

“I honor Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose today on Parakram Diwas and remember his immeasurable contribution to India’s history. He is going to be recognised for his tenacious opposition to colonial rule. 

To make his vision for India a reality, “In his tweet, PM Modi wrote. In 2021, the government designated January 23 as Parakram Diwas to mark the anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth.

On today’s Parakram Diwas, Modi is also slated to virtually take part in a ceremony renaming the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ 21 largest unnamed islands in honor of the 21 recipients of the Param Vir Chakra. 

The model of the National Memorial honoring Netaji that will be erected on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep will also be unveiled by PM Modi, according to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

During the prime minister’s visit to the island in 2018, Ross Islands was renamed as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Dweep in recognition of Netaji and the historical significance of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep were also given to Neil Island and Havelock Island, respectively.

“The Prime Minister has always placed the highest priority on paying respect to the nation’s real-life heroes. 

In keeping with this ethos, it has now been agreed to name the island group’s 21 largest unnamed islands after the 21 recipients of the Param Vir Chakra “The PMO released a statement.

The first recipient of the Param Vir Chakra will be honored by the naming of the largest unidentified island, followed by the recipient of the second Param Vir Chakra, and so on. 

This action will serve as a lasting memorial to our warriors, some of whom gave their lives to preserve the integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Netaji, who was born on January 23, 1897, was a significant figure in the Indian independence movement. 

The Azad Hind Fauj was founded by Subhash Chandra Bose. Bose’s passing on August 18, 1945, in a plane crash near Taipei, is the subject of debate.
