PM Modi To Inaugurate CBI’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations Today

The CBI’s new office buildings in Shillong, Pune, and Nagpur will be officially opened by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during its diamond jubilee celebrations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) diamond jubilee celebrations on Monday, April 4, 2022. 

The event will be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, and PM Modi will also be inaugurating the CBI’s new office complexes in Shillong, Pune, and Nagpur. A government statement has confirmed that PM Modi will release a commemorative coin and a postage stamp to mark the occasion.

During the programme, an investiture ceremony for the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Gold Medal for Best Investigating Officers of the CBI will be held. 

PM Modi will present medals to the recipients at the ceremony. The event will also witness the unveiling of the CBI’s new Twitter handle. The handle’s purpose is to share news about the event.

India’s top investigative body, the CBI, was established on April 1, 1963 as a result of a decision made by the Ministry of Home Affairs. 

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions has control over the organization.

Over the years, the CBI has played a crucial role in maintaining public trust and confidence in law enforcement in India, solving many high-profile cases.

The diamond jubilee celebration of the CBI marks 60 years of the agency’s service to the nation. The CBI has been instrumental in solving several high-profile cases over the years, including the 2G spectrum scam, the Satyam scam, and the Vyapam scam, among others. 

The CBI has also been involved in several high-profile investigations, including the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the Babri Masjid demolition case.

The CBI’s newly constructed office complexes in Shillong, Pune, and Nagpur are expected to boost the agency’s operational capabilities. The new complexes are equipped with modern facilities and technology to enhance the efficiency of the CBI’s operations.

The diamond jubilee celebration of the CBI is an important milestone for the agency. The event marks the agency’s contribution to maintaining public trust and confidence in law enforcement in India. 

The CBI’s new office complexes in Shillong, Pune, and Nagpur are expected to further enhance the agency’s capabilities in tackling high-profile cases and maintaining law and order in the country.
