PM Modi Shut Opposition: Indian PM Narendra Modi addressed the striking farmers amidst protest against farms laws. Addressing them today, he has reassured a disgruntle lot that the Kisan Credit Card will now be made available to all farmers across India. He spoke to farmers across 23000 villages of India via a video-conferencing address.
This announcement was made as the PM addressed the farmers protesting in Madhya Pradesh that had gathered to be a part of the state-level Kisan Sammelan (farmers’ conference), organised in Raisen district. Via a video conferencing, Mr. Modi cleared the air as he mentioned indirectly how the opposition has always used the farmers for their vote-bank politics. “People should seek replies from political parties who talked about agricultural reforms in their manifestos,” he added.
He added that reform was not an overnight process and took planning, contemplation and suggestions from related experts. He added that, “There were demands for the reforms from parties, experts, progressive farmers for many years. The previous governments had made promises to the farmers but never delivered. They are upset because what they had only talked about, Modi has done that.”
Trying to clear the air of ulterior politics around the reform, Mr. Modi spoke plainly, as he addressed a huge lot of farmers who are against the involvement of the private sector in the selling of their grains. He has announced that a total amount of Rs. Sixteen Thousand crores are being transferred into the bank accounts of 35 lakhs farmers of Madhya Pradesh. “Today, several farmers have been given Kisan Credit Card. This could be just a coincidence as thousands of farmers had come flocking into New Delhi settling on the borders threatening a scuffle with police personnel.
Rival parties it seems have been falsifying information and misleading the farmer community at large. The Kissan Samelans are now being organized to sensitize farmers from Punjab and other parts of the country about the advantages of the farm law revision, and that mandis will not be closed after the laws are reformed.
