PM Modi poked fun at the opposition alliance India, claiming that people cannot be misled by merely using the country’s name, citing hateful names like East India Company and Popular Front of India.
According to sources quoting Modi, in his speech to the BJP parliamentary party, he claimed that the opposition is angry and disappointed and that their actions demonstrate that they have decided to stay in the opposition.
Insisting that India will overtake the United States as the third-largest economy during his government’s next term, he expressed confidence that the BJP will win the popular vote and take office after the 2024 elections.
According to sources, when opposition parties began uniting under the banner of their “INDIA,” Modi retaliated by saying that this was merely an effort to mislead the public.
To illustrate the point that simply including the term “India” in their nomenclature does not change anything, he used the names of a number of organizations.
