PM Modi Meets Nokia CEO To Discuss India’s Digital Infrastructure

Nokia CEO & PM Modi met on Monday & discussed India’s next phase digital infrastructure & 6G ambitions. Nokia CEO called it a privilege to meet PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed next-generation internet infrastructure in a “fruitful discussion” with Nokia President and CEO Pekka Lundmark. In a tweet, the prime minister announced the new development.

“A fruitful meeting with Mr. Pekka Lundmark,” the prime minister tweeted, “during which we addressed issues connected to technology and utilizing it for the welfare of society.

We also spoke about India’s advancements in creating cutting-edge digital infrastructure.

The two spoke extensively, according to the president and CEO of Nokia, on how Nokia can support India’s transition to 5G and its upcoming stage of digital transformation. 

He continued by saying that they also talked about Nokia’s prospective involvement in India’s 6G goals.

“A delight to meet with Prime Minister Modi and explore how Nokia is assisting India’s 5G journey and the next stage of digital transformation, as well as how we aim to assist India’s 6G objectives,” Pekka Lundmark wrote in a tweet.

Nishant Batra, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer at Nokia, stated that Nokia is a strong supporter of India’s 5G development. Also, he stated that the manufacturing of the corporation is currently shifting towards India. 

According to a report from the news organization PTI, he stated that “India is developing as a significant digital potential of this decade. 5G infrastructure, applications, and the full technology stack are all included.

India was Nokia’s second most recent market during the third quarter of 2022 because of the country’s quick 5G rollout. If 5G rollout in the nation continues at the same pace, Batra added, Nokia would be highly busy in the India market for at least the next 2.5 to 4 years.

Not only did Bill Gates, a co-founder of Microsoft, praise India’s digital infrastructure, but he also predicted that it will be the world’s cheapest 5G market in the future. 

In addition, he noted that India has opened up transactions for feature phones and that a very large percentage of its population uses smartphones.

Gates stated, “The connectivity has been extremely good, it is highly reliable, and it is the least expensive in the world,” during a meeting conducted during India’s G20 Presidency. 

The 5G will experience the same thing. Without a doubt, this will be the most affordable 5G market.
