PM Chairs High-Level Meet On Hot Weather, Fire Audits of Hospitals

PM Modi chaired a high-level meeting at his residence for preparedness of medical infrastructure and disaster related to heat and mitigation measures.

In order to examine the state of readiness for the impending summer’s heat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a high-level conference at his New Delhi residence on Monday.

The Prime Minister was informed about the upcoming weather forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) as well as the likelihood of a typical monsoon.

He was also given information on how the weather affected rabi crops and the anticipated yield of important crops.

The actions being taken to monitor the supply of irrigation water, fodder, and drinking water were also examined.

“Further information regarding the readiness of states and hospital infrastructure in terms of the availability of necessary supplies and preparedness for emergencies was provided to the prime minister.

Various initiatives being made across the nation to prepare for heat-related disasters and mitigation strategies in place were also updated to him “in a statement, the office of the prime minister.

The prime minister stated that various stakeholders, such as citizens, medical professionals, municipal and panchayat authorities, and disaster response teams like firefighters, should each receive a separate awareness package.

According to PM Modi, guidelines and dos and don’ts for hot weather should be planned in accessible formats. Jingles, films, pamphlets, and other forms of publicity should also be created and distributed.

The Prime Minister requested that IMD publish daily weather forecasts in a way that is simple to understand and spread.

It was also discussed whether daily weather forecasts could be explained on TV news channels, FM radio, etc. in a way that would enable people to take the appropriate precautions.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need for thorough fire audits of all hospitals and for firefighters to conduct mock fire drills in each and every hospital.
