Pathankot Attack Mastermind Shahid Latif Killed In Pakistan’s Mosque

India’s most wanted & the mastermind of the Pathankot terror attack Shahid Latif has been gunned down inside a mosque in Pakistan, by some unidentified killers.

India’s most wanted terrorist, Shahid Latif, who was the mastermind behind the Pathankot terror attack in India, is killed by unknown attackers inside a mosque in Pakistan.

The attack took place on Wednesday morning in Punjab province. 41 years old, Latif was, was a member of the Jaish-E-Mohammad, a banned terrorist organization. Another member of the group was also killed in the attack, and one other person was injured.

Latif had been arrested in India in 1994 and was deported to Pakistan in 2010. He was considered a wanted terrorist by the Indian government.

After his release in 2010, he rejoined the Jaish-E-Mohammad. The terrorist group including Latif, carried out the Pathankot attack in January 2016. Seven Indian security personnel were martyred in the attack.

How Did Terrorist Shahid Latif Get Released From India?

As I said, the terrorist, Shahid Latif was a member of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group. He was arrested in India in 1994 and released in 2010.

The Congress-UPA government was in power in 2010. They released Latif to show a goodwill gesture to Pakistan and to please some western and arab countries.

Shahid Latif and his terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad planned to attack India for 6 years in Pakistan. Later on January 2, 2016, four terrorists attacked the Pathankot airbase in India.

Seven Indian security personnel were martyred in that attack. Even after that Congress-UPA government couldn’t take any strict action.

Did The Govt Take Any Action After The Pathankot Attack?

The Congress-UPA government was criticized for releasing Latif and other terrorists in 2010. The government defended its decision, saying that it was a goodwill gesture, as they wanted to improve relations with Pakistan.

However, the Pathankot attack in 2016 showed that the release of these terrorists was a big mistake.

After the Pathankot attack, the UPA government increased security in military and civilian regions. The government also amended the anti-terrorism laws to make them more strict.

However, the Congress-UPA government did not take any specific action against Latif after the Pathankot attack.

It is possible that the government wasn’t interested in taking any action against Latif because he was in Pakistan, and the government did not want to escalate tensions with Pakistan.
