The Olympics 2024 are going to be held in a timeline of 41 days. This time it’s going to be Paris that holds the games. Starting on 26th July 2024, it is going to end on 11th August 2024 for a duration of 17 days. There are going to be 200 countries who are expected to participate in the summer olympics of this year. It is to be noted that Russia misses out in this year’s Summer Olympics.
There are going to be 32 types of sports that are going to be played from swimming, wrestling, archery to football.
Coming to participating nations, the games have been seeing a surge in Indian athletes. For instance, in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Indian contingent had 124 athletes, the highest number from any country that participated. India also won 7 medals, the highest count for our nation including a gold medal earned by Neeraj Chopra in the Men’s Javelin Throw category.
This year, the Indian delegation would look to do the podium finishes more than ever increasing the glory and pride of the country. All eyes would be on Neeraj Chopra hoping that he wins the gold for the country yet again.
The first to qualify for the games from India was trap shooter Bhowneesh Mendiratta after he proved his worth for India’s first quota by winning the ISSF World Championships. Indian shooters went on to secure every Olympic shooting category for the first time in history of the Olympics.

Race walkers Akshdeep Singh and Priyanka Goswamy were the first ones to qualify for athletics to be held at Paris 2024.
As the national olympic committees have the exclusive authority of representation of their respective countries at the Olympics, the athletes participation in Paris 2024 depends on their NOC after selection for the delegation.
