Opposition Set To Move No-Trust Motion. What Are BJP’s Plans?

As the Opposition gears up to move a no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government in Parliament, the BJP-led government is already planning its counter-strategy.

The no-confidence motion is an attempt by the Opposition to put the Prime Minister on the spot regarding the Manipur issue.

Prime Minister Modi has firmly stood against the Opposition’s coalition called INDIA. He remains steadfast even as the government continues to push forward with its legislative agenda.

On the day of the no-confidence motion, the government is set to introduce the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill.

The Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill is a proposed amendment to the Forest Conservation Act in India. The current act protects India’s forests and allows the government to regulate the extraction of forest resources by industries and forest-dwelling communities.

The proposed amendment aims to address the issue of insufficient forest cover in the country.

The amendment is necessary because there is no clear definition of a ‘forest’ and not all states have defined and demarcated forests according to their own criteria.

The amendment seeks to expand the protection of areas that meet the ‘dictionary’ meaning of forests, even if they are not formally notified as such.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is actively involved in parliamentary proceedings, is also keeping a close eye on the BJP’s preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.

He will chair a meeting in Bhopal with senior BJP leaders from the state, including Union ministers.

In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress government is planning a resolution against Manipur in the Assembly. However West Bengal is itself experiencing violence & crises.

Outside the House, the ruling party is intensifying its campaign on the issue, with the Mahila Trinamool Congress organizing a rally on Wednesday.

In Kerala, Assembly Speaker A N Shamseer is facing criticism from the BJP and VHP for alleged remarks against Lord Ganesha.

They accuse him of hurting religious sentiments and have called for legal action. The BJP plans to lead a march to the Kerala Secretariat on this matter.

In Tamil Nadu, arrested minister V Senthil Balaji is hoping for relief from court, with hearings scheduled for two special leave petitions on Wednesday.
