Operation Kaveri: 1,100 Indian Nationals Evacuated From Sudan

The Indian Govt launched ‘Operation Kaveri’ to evacuate stranded Indian residents from Sudan amidst conflict of Sudanese Armed force & paramilitary groups.

The Indian government generously supported the evacuation effort, setting up a travel office in Jeddah and assigning V Muraleedharan, the minister of state for external affairs, to direct it.

When they arrived in Delhi, the saved Indian citizens thanked the government of India and sung nationalistic anthems like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Indian Army Zindabad,” and “PM Narendra Modi Zindabad.”

The sixth evacuation of 128 Indian nationals from Sudan has been completed. To date, nearly 1,100 Indian people have been rescued from the violence-stricken African nation. The Indian government has initiated “Operation Kaveri” to rescue citizens stranded in Sudan.

V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, is in charge of the Jeddah evacuation mission. The Indian government is attempting to expedite the return of all rescued citizens to India.

The Indian government has examined the security situation in Sudan and is in communication with Saudi Arabia.

Numerous nations have dispatched rescue teams to evacuate their own citizens from Sudan. The United Nations has issued a warning that the widespread emigration of foreigners could spark a new refugee crisis.

According to the World Health Organization, the confrontations between the Sudan army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary culminated in over 450 deaths and over 4,000 injuries.

Those who were evacuated as Indian citizens thanked the Indian government for its assistance during the evacuation operation.

Surender Singh Yadav stated that approximately 1,000 individuals are still in Jeddah awaiting evacuation, despite the fact that the government and embassy extended significant support to those stranded in Sudan.

The safe evacuation of Indian nationals from Sudan demonstrates the significance of government assistance and international mediation during times of crisis.
