Operation Dost: Turkey Shed Tears And Gratitude To Their Saviour India

Turkey citizens shed tears of thanks & gratitude to their Indian friends. India’s Operation Dost team came as their saviors & helped them in every possible way.

The ‘Hindustani’ friends and ‘Biradars’ who arrived as rescuers and withdrew the combat patches and other military decorations from the Indian rescuers’ clothing caused many Turks to shed tears of appreciation and thankfulness.

On February 7 and February 19, Turkiye earthquake victims received aid from the medical staff of 60 Para Field Hospital.

The field hospital provided care for roughly 3,600 patients and performed a number of major and small surgeries, including one amputation and life-saving procedure.

Following the disastrous earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6 and left over 30,000 dead, India initiated “Operation Dost” to provide aid to both nations.

Before they left for India last week, the federal contingency force, which started working on February 7, managed to pull two young girls alive from the rubble and recover 85 bodies.

In his official house at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated them.

The devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake and a string of powerful aftershocks that slammed areas of Turkey and neighboring Syria on February 6 have claimed more than 44,000 lives and destroyed thousands of homes and buildings.

“Overnight, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Consular Passport and Visa (CPV) section prepared passports for our rescuers.

As the Indian government instructed the NDRF to travel to Turkiye, they quickly processed hundreds of documents “Reporters were told by NDRF Inspector General (IG) N S Bundela.

Another officer stated that only a small number of the 152 officers had diplomatic passports ready for travel abroad, and that hundreds of documents were sent via fax and email to the NDRF teams in Varanasi and Kolkata in order to be processed for the creation of the passports.

For the entire 10 days that they were in Turkey, none of the rescuers were able to take a bath, according to Sub-Inspector Bintu Bhoria.

“But we made sure to clean every place we called home. We simply carried the Turkish people’s love and devotion back with us “Vipin Pratap Singh, an NDRF officer, remarked.

While an Indian Army medical team was leaving Turkiye after providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief to the earthquake-devastated country, tear-stained Turkish civilians waved them farewell with heartfelt affection and a sincere sense of thanks.

“When we were leaving, they (Turkish citizens) were crying. For us as well, it was a really emotional time. They gave us hugs as a gesture of appreciation; it was humbling “a team member who asked to remain anonymous remarked.
