With the release of ChatGPT, Open AI made a big advancement in the field of AI. Now the firm is taking a step forward by launching a new mode of its chatbot, Chat GPT. This new capability promises to bring about a new change in how humans interact with AI.
The company announced the new feature through its Twitter account, mentioning, “We’re starting to roll out advanced Voice mode to a small group of Chat GPT Plus users. Advanced Voice Mode offers more natural, real time conversations, allows you to interrupt anytime, and senses and responds to your emotions.”
The Advanced Voice Mode in Chat GPT is designed to offer a more natural and intuitive conversation. Users can now interact with the AI platform through voice commands and the chatbot will respond with human-like voice output.
The model is powered by the cutting edge text to speech model, capable of generating highly realistic audio from text input.
The advanced voice mode operates through a pipeline involving various AI models. Initially the person’s voice input is converted into text using speech recognition technology. The text is then processed by the chatbot language model to generate a suitable response and finally the text is transformed into speech by the model.
The Open AI in its statement said, “The TTS system is developed by helping the model understand the nuances of speech from paired audio and transcriptions. The model learns to predict the most probable sounds a speaker would utter for a given text and after that the model can generate not only just spoken versions of text but also spoken utterances that reflect the different types of speakers would say them.”
