Open Ai Launches ChatGPT 4o; New features, Model Upgrades and much more

Open Ai, one of the few companies that has changed the tech industry by bringing a revolution, brought another interesting upgrade in their trademark product that is Chat GPT 4. The new upgrade is termed Chat GPT 4o and has better interactivity, responds to prompts in a better way and with improvement in the usage capability. It has now been powered with a human voice that teaches maths and even flirts with its users. The chatbot is now capable of booking cabs and has a direction sensor too.

The Chat GPT 4o is available in 2 modes, one being desktop version and the other in mobile interface. The Company’s Chief of Technology, Mira Murati said the developments have been done to make it user friendly and increase speed of the chatbot.

She went on to say, “We are looking at the future of human interaction with machines and we think that Chat GPT 4o is shifting the paradigm. This is the first time we are taking a huge step forward when it comes to user friendliness and ease of use of the product.”

The chatbot can translate various languages for example spanish to english and italian to english as the need be, and even makes huge mathematical calculations like the number of times a person breathes in a minute. These were shown in live demonstrations by the company’s research personnels.

Since the company launched the app in late 2022, it took the market by storm. The user base reached a hundred million within a time frame of 2 months. It set a record at the time by registering the highest number of users by an app.

“The application itself can write code in different languages like python, anaconda and such. The app scored a 90th percentile on the uniform Bar exam, and scored a near perfect score in the SAT maths test.”, said Open Ai CEO Sam Altman in 2023. 

The company has even launched Sora, its video generation tool 3 months earlier in February 2024 but was not available till March 2024. Social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram are labelling the Artificial Intelligence generated content especially those generated by Chat GPT, Sora, Midjourney and others. This is being done to protect the social media abuse of users as various fake posts had been circulating in the past created by these apps and thus the need of the hour.

This resulted in huge row and led to resignation of the then CEO in 2023 but after a public apology, Altman was rehired by Open Ai in the former position.
