ONDC Marks 10,000 Daily Orders, Cheaper Than Amazon, Swiggy-Zomato

ONDC is a government-backed platform that provides equal opportunity for all online businesses to sell all kinds of products. Plus, it charges very nominal fees.

ONDC, or the Open Network for Digital Commerce, is a government-owned platform that has been gaining popularity since its launch in September 2022.

The platform enables customers to purchase various items such as food, clothes, movie tickets, groceries, and electronics with just one click.

Unlike Amazon, which serves as an aggregator of products and customers, ONDC aggregates all products and services in a single app. This means that customers can access everything mentioned above within one app.

The emergence of ONDC has challenged the dominance of food delivery aggregators such as Zomato and Swiggy, with customers comparing the prices and finding ONDC to be cheaper.

However, ONDC is not limited to just food delivery but also allows customers to buy a variety of products and services.

Moreover, ONDC will connect all online sellers by reducing fees at nominal costs. This will provide equal opportunities for every online business or seller, thus reducing the domination of 1-2 companies in the market. This move is a positive step towards promoting fair competition and enabling small businesses to thrive.

With over 29,000 sellers and more than 36 lakh products available, ONDC is a comprehensive platform for purchasing various items.

It can be accessed through the Paytm app by searching for ‘ONDC’ in the search bar. It is important to note that not all restaurants are currently selling food through this platform as it is still a relatively new service.

The emergence of ONDC has provided customers with a cheaper alternative to existing food delivery aggregators, while also offering a comprehensive platform for purchasing various items.

Moreover, it has the potential to promote fair competition and provide equal opportunities for small businesses and online sellers.
