Ola Electric Releases MoveOS 3 To Its Electric Scooters In India

Ola Electric has started featuring MoveOS 3 update to all of its electric scooters (Ola S1 & Ola S1 Pro). The update was announced back in October this year.

Today, Ola Electric began rolling out MoveOS 3 updates to its Ola S1 electric scooters and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters. An exclusive launch event was held in Bengaluru to announce the announcement.

It is notable that Ola first announced MoveOS 3, its next-generation operating system for electric scooters in October last year.

The company stated that the update would be available for Ola EVs users in December. Nearly two months later, the company officially began rolling out MoveOS 3 to its users.

Ola stated that MoveOS 3 will be delivered to more than 15,000 EVs in the country via an over-the-air update (OTA), and that the rollout is expected to take place within a week.

The company clarified at the event that its newly launched electric scooter, the Ola S1 Air was also going to receive the MoveOS 3 update.

Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric CEO, also spoke out about the future plans for the company over the next year.

Aggarwal stated that the company has many new products in the pipeline for 2023, including an electric bicycle.

Aggarwal stated that Ola Electric would soon be offering electric bikes in a variety of price ranges. He answered a question about the launch of an electric car by Ola Electric, which he had teased earlier in the year.

The OS update to MoveOS 3 features many new features for Ola S1 Pro and S1 Pro users. These are the top features MoveOS 3 will bring to Ola’s electric scooters.

Ola Electric has also planned to launch its own lithium-ion cell by the end of next year (2023). A Lithium-ion cell is an important component in making batteries for EVs.

Currently, Indian EV manufacturers have to rely on lithium-ion battery cells from China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. Ola currently imports its cells from LG Chem, South Korea.

After the launch Ola will become India’s first and might be the largest lithium cell manufacturer. They have been building the technology for the last two years.
