Objectionable Posters Found Against PM Modi In Delhi, Police Suspects AAP

Delhi police registered 100 FIRs, and arrested 6 people for putting up posters against Modi. These anti-Modi posters in Delhi have sparked controversy.

The posters, which targeted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were put up in various parts of the city, prompting the police to launch a crackdown. Two of the arrested individuals own a printing press and were apprehended for defacing public property and violating a law that requires posters to have the name of the printing press.

Delhi police reported 138 First Information Reports (FIRs) on Tuesday, out of which 36 were for anti-Modi posters. Nearly 2,000 posters that were allegedly being delivered to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s office were seized by the police.

The AAP, in a tweet, questioned the arrests and asked what was objectionable in the posters. The party also said that this was the “peak of the Modi government’s dictatorship.”

The arrested printing press owners told the Delhi Police that they had received an order to print 50,000 “Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao” posters.

The owners were arrested because the posters did not have the name of the printing press. This has become the latest flashpoint between the Centre and AAP.

The Bharatiya Janata Party accused AAP of not following the law while putting up the posters.

The Aam Aadmi Party has announced a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar tomorrow to demand the ouster of PM Modi. In a massive operation on Tuesday, the police took down nearly 2,000 posters from Delhi.

Most of these posters had the slogan “Modi hatao, desh bachao (Remove Modi, save the country).”

The controversy surrounding the arrests and the seizure of the posters has created a rift between the ruling government and opposition parties.

The AAP has accused the Modi government of suppressing freedom of expression, while the BJP has accused the opposition party of breaking the law.

The incident has brought the issue of freedom of speech and the right to dissent to the forefront of Indian politics once again.
