Now Passport Police Verification Will Take 5 Days Only

MEA has introduced ‘mPassport Police App’ to reduce the police verification process for passport issuance across the country, from 15 days to 5 days only.

To simplify and hasten the process of police verification of passport issues, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs introduced the “mPassport Police App” on Friday.

On the occasion of the force’s Raising Day, Federal Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday presented 350 mobile tablets to members of the Delhi Police Special Branch. 

According to a release released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Regional Passport Office (RPO), Delhi on Friday, these devices would now allow the whole process of police verification and submitting reports to become paperless.

Abhishek Dubey, the regional passport officer for Delhi, stated in a press release that tablet-based verification will shorten the verification process’ 15-day turnaround time to just five days, saving 10 days overall on the passport issue schedule.

In a tweet posted on Friday, RPO Delhi stated that the office is dedicated to efficient delivery of services and Digital India. The verification process will take only five days thanks to the mPassport Police App.

“350 mobile tablets have been given to employees of the Spl. Branch/Delhi Police by the honorable HM@AmitShah. 

With the help of these tablets, the complete passport application verification procedure will go paperless, digital, and take just five days”, On Thursday, the Delhi Police tweeted.

Shah tweeted in Hindi on Thursday: “launched the Passport Mobile Application to enable speedy passport verification. Police investigations will be more transparent and time-efficient with digital verification.”

“These important steps taken today are essential efforts in the direction of the Police Technology Mission of Modi-ji for smart policing,” he stated.

On 16th February, during the 76th Raising Day event for the Delhi Police, Home Minister Amit Shah made a statement regarding this.

Shah stated in his address that residents of Delhi will no longer be concerned about the length of time it takes to obtain their passports since “they will now get a police approval within five days as opposed to the 15 days it used to take.”

He continued by saying that passport offices get 2,000 applications for passports every day and that “their online processing will minimize the challenges faced by citizens.”
