Now Easily Track Location Of Your Loved Ones With Google Contacts

If you often worry about the well-being of your loved ones and want to be aware of where your loved ones are right now, today’s news for you.

Google has introduced a new feature in its Google Contacts app that allows users to see the real-time location of their contacts without having to open Google Maps. This update is a significant step forward, especially for those of us who want to ensure the safety of our family and friends.

Here’s how it works: If you’re using the Google Contacts app on your Android device, make sure you have the latest version, which is 4.22.37.586680692.

Once updated, the app will show you the location of your contacts, but there’s a small catch. The person whose location you want to see must have shared it with you via Google Maps and you should have their Gmail address saved in your Contacts.

When you open a contact in the app, you’ll see a small Google Maps box beneath the options to call or text them. This box will display their current location if they’re sharing it with you. Additionally, you can get directions to their location or even receive a notification when they arrive at a specific place.

This feature is particularly helpful for those who aren’t too familiar with technology, like the elderly, making it easier for them to check on their loved ones. It’s all about convenience and safety, ensuring peace of mind.

In related updates, Google has also rolled out an eco-friendly routing feature. This new addition provides fuel- or energy-efficiency estimates for different routes based on the type of vehicle engine. It’s a thoughtful approach to promoting sustainability while navigating.

Remember, the location-sharing aspect is fully under user control. People can choose whether to share their location or not. This ensures that privacy concerns are addressed.

As a parent, for instance, this feature can be very useful for keeping track of your children’s whereabouts, and it works the same way for keeping in touch with friends and family.
