You can now use WhatsApp to download papers such as their PAN card and driver’s license, among other things.
The government stated on Monday that people can now use the MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp to access DigiLocker services.
According to a press release, MyGov will offer DigiLocker as a key citizen service on WhatsApp to effectively boost digital inclusion and effective implementation.

Citizens can now use WhatsApp to create and validate their DigiLocker accounts, as well as download documents such as their PAN card, driver’s license, and vehicle registration certificate.
In essence, WhatsApp now has a MyGov chatbot service that allows users to access these papers directly from their phone without having to go to the DigiLocker mobile app or website. If necessary, the chatbot can also assist users in creating a new DigiLocker account.
Users in India can use the chatbot by sending the WhatsApp message ‘Namaste’, ‘Hi’ or ‘DigiLocker’ to the number +91 9013151515.
Citizens will be able to access the following papers with comfort and efficiency from the comfort of their own homes.

DigiLocker, a flagship program of the Digital India initiative, aims to increase people’s digital empowerment by giving them access to legitimate digital documents in their digital document account.
The DigiLocker system’s issued papers are considered to be equivalent to original physical documents.
Abhishek Singh, CEO of MyGov said that about 100 million users have already enrolled on DigiLocker, with 5 billion papers given to date.
