Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh the former president of the Wrestling Federation of India has been dealt a setback by the Delhi High Court. The court has declined to offer any relief to Singh in the sexual harassment case he is embroiled in. Instead the court has instructed Singh’s lawyer to submit a concise note summarizing all arguments for quashing the charges against him.
Singh a six-time Member of Parliament faces severe charges including sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of women. These allegations have been brought forward by multiple women wrestlers leading to a significant legal battle.
Singh’s petition challenges the validity of the FIR the chargesheet, and the trial court’s order on the framing of charges. He argues that the investigation was biased, claiming that it only considered the victims’ perspectives which he believes were motivated by personal vendettas. Despite these arguments the court has refused to halt the legal proceedings.
