Nikki Haley Calls Herself ‘Proud Daughter of Indian’ Immigrants

Nikki Haley has officially launched the 2024 presidential campaign. The renowned Indo-American said that she has all the credentials to be the next US president.

As a brown kid growing up in a black-and-white society, Republican leader Nikki Haley of India said she witnessed the “promise of America” materialize in front of her.

The two-term Governor of South Carolina, age 51, continued, “Given everything I’ve witnessed over my entire life, I’m more certain than ever that we can bring this vision to life in our time.

As a brown girl growing up in a black-and-white society, I witnessed America’s promise develop before my eyes “.

Take it from me, America is not a racist nation, said Haley, who was once the US ambassador to the UN. She was the 29th US ambassador to the UN, serving in that capacity from January 2017 to December 2018.

In her first outing as a candidate for the White House, Nikki Haley sported her Indian background with pride. She is the proud daughter of immigrants from India, she declared.

“My parents emigrated from India in search of better opportunities. They discovered it in Bamberg, South Carolina, which has 2,500 residents.

It wasn’t always simple, but our small town eventually grew to adore us. We were the only Indian family there. Nobody was aware of our identity, our mission, or our purpose.”

Haley concluded by saying, “I see America as the world’s leader in terms of freedom and peace. Yet it’s not just my vision.

It beckoned to my parents more than 50 years ago since it is at the heart of our country’s history “.

Ajit Singh Randhawa and Raj Kaur Randhawa, Sikh immigrants from Punjab who had moved to Canada and subsequently the US in the 1960s, welcomed their daughter Nimrata Nikki Randhawa in Bamberg, South Carolina in 1972.

On Wednesday, Nikki Haley, the head of the Republican Party, formally announced her candidature for president in 2024, presenting herself as a younger, more modern alternative to 20th-century politicians like her former employer and former president Donald Trump.

She stated, “The world’s security is compromised while America is concerned. And today, our adversaries believe the American age has ended. They’re wrong. America is still in good shape. Simply put, our politicians have outlived their usefulness!”

With her formal announcement, Haley will officially enter the race to challenge Trump, who late last year announced his third attempt for the White House.

Additionally, Haley must prevail in the Republican Party’s presidential primary, which will get underway in January of next year, in order to be included on the presidential ballot.

The next presidential election in the United States is scheduled for November 5, 2024. Democratic US President Joe Biden hasn’t yet said whether or not he’ll run for office again. The oldest US president in office is Biden, who is 80.

Haley is the 3rd Indian-American to stand for President of the United States in three years. Both Kamala Harris, the vice president, and Bobby Jindal ran for office in 2016. She is the 2nd woman of color to have run for president under the Republican Party’s banner.

The first was Angel Joy Chavis Rocker, a Florida school counselor who ran for president in 2000 and was the first African-American to do so.
