CBI Arrests Two in NEET-UG Paper Leak Case in Bihar

Recently CBI has arrested two individuals from Patna in the NEET paper leak case. The suspects Manish Kumar and Ashutosh were detained following an investigation into the alleged leak of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) question paper. Manish Kumar and Asutosh are believed to have played a key role.

According to CBI sources Manish transported students in his car and provided access to an empty school where at least two dozen students were given the leaked paper to memorize. Ashutosh is accused of offering lodging to the students at his residence.

The arrests were made after the CBI summoned both men for questioning on Thursday.

The CBI has registered 6 FIRs related to the NEET paper leak. The first FIR was filed on Sunday just a day after the Ministry of Education handed over the case to the central agency.

Before the CBI’s involvement local police had already detained several individuals in Bihar, Maharashtra, and Delhi, among those detained was a NEET aspirant who admitted to receiving a copy of the question paper a day before the exam.

These allegations have sparked widespread protests and legal actions as a case filed in the Supreme Court too, which has criticized the NTA for its handling of the situation.
