Naval Commanders’ Conference 2023 Starts Today Aboard INS Vikrant

The Navy officials will review major operational, material, logistics, HR development, training & other administrative activities undertaken in the last 6 months.

Navy Chief Admiral H Hari Kumar and other top naval commanders will review significant operational, material, logistical, human resource development, training, and other authoritative initiatives performed by the Navy in the previous six months at the Naval Commanders’ Conference 2023, which will be held at sea aboard the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, the Navy said.

On Monday, during the biannual naval commanders’ conference on board INS Vikrant, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Navy Chief R. Hari Kumar, and more than 20 commanders of the Indian Navy will discuss potential warfare, from operations to logistics, and the Agnipath program.

The Agnipath program and women’s enrollment will be the main topics of discussion.

At the conference, topics like operations, military readiness, logistics, training, human resource development, and training will also be discussed.

The choice of holding the conference onboard the INS will be discussed by the defense minister during the first session on Monday.

According to a government release, Vikrant was brought in light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long-held vision that commanders’ conferences should not be limited to the national Capital alone but should also visit the other operational areas.

The naval commanders’ conference provides an opportunity for the officers to interact with senior government officials and discuss crucial security issues at the military-strategic level.

On succeeding days, the officers will engage in discussion about the integration of the three services in a shared operational environment and ways to increase synergy between the three services with General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the chiefs of the Indian Army, who will also be present at the event.
