‘National Youth Festival’ Helds On Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary

The 26th edition of the festival is being held in Karnataka, organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports with collaboration of the state govt.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is working with the Government of Karnataka to put on the 26th edition of the event, which will take place through January 16 in Hubballi-Dharwad.

Officials claim that the festival is scheduled to take place in order to expose brilliant young people to a national audience and inspire them to contribute to the development of the country.

They added that the festival’s theme this year is “Viksit Yuva – Viksit Bharat,” which connects the participants in the concept of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and brings varied cultures from across the nation to a single platform.

At the Railway Sports Ground in this city, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot of Karnataka, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, and Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and Anurag Singh Thakur will all be there when Modi inaugurates the festival at 4 p.m. After the opening ceremony, the prime minister is expected to depart for New Delhi.

At the inaugural event, where the prime minister will present his vision to them, around 30,000 youth are anticipated.

Over 7,500 young people from all over India attend the five-day event to participate in various learning activities.

According to Chief Minister Bommai, participants in this youth festival would be coming from 28 states and 8 union territories to show off their talents.

All five days will feature a range of cultural and sporting events. The national youth festival is being hosted in the north Karnataka region for the first time, and it would support youth development across the board, he said.

Though there would be no roadshow by the PM during his visit, he stated that people are permitted to stand on both sides of the roadway from the airport to the location.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports reports that the festival’s activities will include panel discussions on timely subjects like student-centric governance and Digital India, adventure sports competitions, traditional sports exhibitions, and competitive cultural events in which troupes from various states compete.

Non-competitive activities include Yuva Kriti, an annual social development fair, Adventure Festival, Suvichar, and Young Artists Camp, among others.

A “YOGATHON” is scheduled for January 15 from 6 am to 8 am, including five lakh participants from 31 different Karnataka districts.

A “Youth Summit” will be held, featuring two-way conversations on topics like the future of employment, industry, innovation, and 21st Century skills, climate change and catastrophe risk reduction, peacebuilding and reconciliation, and shared future-youth in democracy and government.

This year’s celebration is being observed as a “Green Youth Festival,” with only reusable silverware, napkins, and other items being used, according to officials.

Water refilling stations have been set up to lessen the use of disposable things, and all the souvenirs, medals, and stationary are made of reusable materials.
