The date of National Cinema Day 2022 has been postponed on the request of some stakeholders. You could buy the film tickets at just ₹75 during the event.
The Multiplex Association of India (MAI), a commercial organization connected to the FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry), has shifted the next National Cinema Day event to Friday, September 23. This advances the day’s date by a week.
The organizations have already released details on the day appreciating Indian cinema, which will be held on September 16 on Friday. The day, however, has now been postponed by a week.
On National Cinema Day, a single day-long celebration organized by MAI in partnership with FICCI, moviegoers can see any film at a partner theater with the MAI for just ₹ 75.
No multiplexes or movie theaters have confirmed special showings of classic or rare indie films during the event, as is common at film festivals conducted all over the world. In the participating theaters, audiences will consequently receive discounted entry to the latest movies.
It’s also possible that there will be restrictions on the amount of tickets that people may buy through the offer and the kinds of tickets they can buy at the discounted price.

According to a statement about the matter posted online by the MAI, the event has been postponed “on request from several stakeholders and in order to increase participation.”
It’s not clear from this journal whether there have been operational and logistical challenges hosting the one-day event across India, but it seems that the date has been changed to draw in more participating screens and viewers for films across the country.
Both the MAI and the FICCI made the announcement that the price of every ticket at theaters taking part in National Cinema Day will be ₹ 75.
Additionally, the bodies have stipulated that any limitations on the amount of tickets that may be bought at this discounted rate and any exemptions from the ticket pricing shall only be communicated at the discretion of local movie theaters.

More than 4,000 movie theaters across India, including the big multiplex chains PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis as well as other chains like
and others, have confirmed their participation in the event with MAI.
The precise list of all screens will vary based on what is offered locally, but it should be provided in great detail on the official websites as well as theater halls of the multiplexes directly.
