Nation Celebrates Veer Bal Diwas At Bharat Mandapam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Veer Bal Diwas event at a venue called Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This event is special because it remembers the bravery of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s sons, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, who showed great courage against the Mughal invaders many years ago.

At the event, PM Modi highlighted how this day is now recognized worldwide, with countries like the UAE, New Zealand, and Australia also celebrating it. He mentioned that bravery isn’t limited by age, referring to the young ages of the Sahibzadas when they stood up to the Mughals.

The celebration included performances of Gatka, a traditional Sikh martial art, by members of the Sikh community. This martial art is part of Sikh heritage and symbolizes strength and agility.

Additionally, the Prime Minister flagged off a march-past to honor this day. March-pasts are like parades, where groups of people march together, often in uniform, to show respect and remembrance.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to the Sahibzadas and their grandmother, Mata Gujri Ji, on social media. He praised their bravery and said their sacrifice would continue to inspire future generations.

However, Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda are in Kolkata today to review the organizational landscape and prepare the roadmap in West Bengal.

The government has planned several activities to spread awareness about this day. For example, there will be digital exhibitions in schools to teach children about the Sahibzadas’ bravery and sacrifice.

A film about Veer Bal Diwas will be shown all over the country, and there will be online competitions and quizzes on government portals like MYBharat and MyGov.

Veer Bal Diwas also coincides with the birth anniversary of Udham Singh, a famous revolutionary. He is known for avenging the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by killing General O’Dwyer. Dwyer was the cruel British officer responsible for the tragedy.
