Mumbaikar: A Kidnapping Goes Wrong With Many Suspects

Vikrant Massey and Vijay Sethupathi starrer film ‘Mumbaikar’ is going to release tomorrow on 2nd June. This is a Hindi remake of Tamil film Maanagaram.

The upcoming film “Mumbaikar,” directed by Santosh Sivan, is set to release on June 2, 2023. The movie is a Hindi remake of the Tamil hit “Maanagaram” and stars Vijay Sethupathi and Vikrant Massey in lead roles. It revolves around a kidnapping gone wrong in Mumbai.

The story follows a Mumbai don’s son who is accidentally kidnapped for ransom. However, the situation becomes more complex as multiple suspects claim responsibility for the kidnapping, leading to confusion. 

The teaser of this film had revealed that Vijay’s character mistakenly abducts the wrong child from a school, who happens to be the son of a dangerous Mumbai don. 

As events unfold, the child manages to escape, and the don receives calls from various individuals, each asserting that they have his son.

Set within a 24-hour timeframe, the film captures the chaotic atmosphere of Mumbai and the unpredictable twists and turns that arise from the failed kidnapping. 

It blends frantic action with elements of dark humor. “Mumbaikar” was filmed a few years ago and will make its digital premiere next month.

The film also features a talented ensemble cast, including Hridhu Haroon, Ranvir Shorey, Sachin Khedekar, Tanya Maniktala, and Sanjay Mishra. It is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Riya Shibu. Notably, the movie will be dubbed in Tamil as well.

Fans eagerly anticipate the release, especially for Vijay Sethupathi’s presence, as the teaser has garnered positive reactions on YouTube. 

Vijay, a popular Tamil actor, has gained a significant following, and viewers express excitement about seeing him in a Bollywood film. 

Director Santosh Sivan expressed his satisfaction with working alongside such talented actors in a statement, emphasizing that the movie aims to capture the unique spirit of Mumbai through its intertwined characters.

“Mumbaikar” will be available for streaming on Jio Cinema for free starting from June 2, 2023.
