MP Ravi Kishan To Introduce ‘Population Control Bill’ In Lok Sabha

The member of parliament for Uttar Pradesh‘s Gorakhpur district, Ravi Kishan, announced that he would introduce a bill in the Lok Sabha on population control.

Ravi Kishan is an Actor-turned-Politician in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is going to introduce a private member’s bill in the Lok Sabha on population control.

However Ravi and his wife Priti have 4 children together: 3 daughters and one son. That’s why many people on social media are trolling for his ‘population control’ statement.

But most of the current elder generation have more than 2 children. It doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve to act. They are taking initiatives so that next or upcoming generations do not repeat the same mistake.

“Only when the Population Control Bill is introduced will we become Vishwa Guru. incredibly crucial to maintaining population control, “ANI was told by Kishan.

“We are approaching an explosion given the speed it is rising. I want the opposition to allow me to introduce the measure and hear my justifications, “Kishan continued.

According to a recent UN report, India is expected to overtake China as the world’s most populous nation in 2019. 

India’s Total Fertility Rate (TFR) decreased from 5.9 children per woman in 1950 to 2.2 children per woman in 2020, falling just short of 2.1 replacement level fertility, according to the World Population Prospects 2022.

Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health, stated in the Upper House on Tuesday that the administration aims to stabilize the population by 2045 and that its efforts to slow population increase have been successful.

Bharati Pawar further explained to the house that, according to NFHS 5, modern contraceptive use has risen to 56.5%, while the unmet requirement for family planning is at 9.4%.

She claimed that the crude birth rate (CBR), as reported by the Sample Registration System of the Census, had decreased to 19.7 per 1,000 persons in 2019.

Parliament’s Monsoon Session began on July 18 and will last till August 12. During the course of the Session, there are going to be a total of 18 sittings.
