Monkey Man: Dev Patel’s Revenge Thriller Set To Hit Theaters Globally

The action thriller movie “Monkey Man,” directed by and starring Dev Patel, has released its first trailer. This film, which marks Patel’s debut as a director, is set in India and draws inspiration from the legend of Hanuman

The story revolves around a man, played by Patel, seeking revenge against corrupt leaders responsible for his mother’s death and the ongoing oppression of the poor and helpless.

In the trailer, Patel’s character is seen fighting in an underground club, where he wears a gorilla mask and is beaten by famous fighters for money. The film also explores his childhood, showing him with his mother and his journey towards seeking vengeance.

Sobhita Dhulipala, an Indian actress, announced her Hollywood debut with “Monkey Man” on Instagram. The film has received positive reactions, with Anurag Kashyap and Adarsh Gourav expressing their excitement on social media.

“Monkey Man” is set to release globally in theaters on April 5. Dev Patel co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Angunawela and John Collee.

It features an ensemble cast including Makarand Deshpande, Sikandar Kher, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Adithi Kalkunte, and Ashwini Kalsekar.

The film is a collaboration between several production companies, including Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw, and is distributed by Universal Pictures.

The movie “Monkey Man” is produced by Bron Studios, Thunder Road Films, Monkeypaw Productions, and Minor Realm/S’Ya Concept, in association with WME Independent and Creative Wealth Media.

The movie is produced by Dev Patel and others, including Jordan Peele. It was initially set up at Netflix in 2021 but later moved to a big-screen release.

The film’s trailer showcases action-packed fight and chase scenes, with Patel’s character engaging in intense hand-to-hand combat.

The character of Dev Patel reminds us of the ‘John Wick’ movies. Interestingly, Thunder Road Films, a producer of the ‘John Wick’ series, is also involved in this project.
