‘Monica, O My Darling’ Trailer, Cast & Review, With Crime-Comedy Plot

Radhika Apte, Huma Qureshi & Rajkummar Rao starrer crime-comedy film trailer has been released. The story plots love, betrayal, blackmail, and a murder incident.

On Monday night, the trailer for Vasan Bala’s next dark comedy Monica O My Darling was made public. 

The movie, which features Radhika Apte, Huma Qureshi, and Rajkummar Rao, explores themes of love, betrayal, extortion, and murder. 

Fans were appropriately delighted by the two-minute trailer; many compared it to hits like Johnny Gaddaar and Andhadhun. 

Miss Monica, the movie’s title heroine, is introduced in a retro-style in the trailer’s opening (a character portrayed by Huma Qureshi). 

Rajkummar Rao approaches her hesitantly as we watch and hear her claim that the police are waiting for him. 

It’s hinted that she’s extorting money from him. Rajkummar begs her, accusing her of betraying him, and queries her motives. 

Cut to Sikander Kher and Bagavathi Perumal, who inform Rajkummar that Monica is also extorting money from them. They agree that killing is the only way out.

The men then make a series of increasingly feeble attempts to kill Monica and get rid of her. There is a murder, but the identity of the victim is not given in the trailer. 

And then comes Radhika Apte’s ACP Naidu, who harbors strong misgivings about Rajkummar’s persona and thinks he may be connected to the murder she is looking into.

This is going to be one extremely interesting movie, a fan commented after seeing the trailer. Can’t help but grin when I see this. 

At the casting, someone else commented. They wrote, “Radhika+Huma+Rajkumar Rao=Deadly Combination.” 

Others noted that the trailer reminded them of some of the best recent dark comedies from Bollywood.

Zayn Marie, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, and Sukant Goel also appear in the Vasan Bala-directed film. On November 11, Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil’s movie will be available on Netflix.
